The Professional Alliance for GIS & GeoSciences launches WebSite
in Celebration of GIS DAY 2003
On Wednesday November 19th 2003, the PAGG will officially launch
its website, www.pagg.org in celebration of GIS DAY 2003. GIS DAY
is an international event that is celebrated by thousands of GIS
users all over the world, who love Geography and use GIS to apply
practical solutions to solve complex land issues like sustainable
development of natural resources, provision of emergency services,
disaster preparedness land administration and so much more.
The Professional Alliance for GIS & Geosciences (PAGG), is
a non-profit organization, comprising GIS enthusiasts who have,
since its inception in September of 2001, been the conduit for information
exchange on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as the decision
making tool of the 21st Century.
www.PAGG.Org. is designed to promote
GIS Technology for informational purposes. The well-organized links
between higher-level pages and the information within the site make
it simple for users and PAGG members to find what they are looking
for.
The launch represents a significant benchmark achieved demonstrating
PAGG’s commitment to bring Geographic Information Systems
to the wider Bahamian Community and the PAGG to the World while
ensuring that all members and general users have easy access to
information.
The architecture of the new site organizes PAGG’S information
into several major categories. History of PAGG, Events, Societal
Bylaws , Conferences, Membership, Code of Ethics and frequently
asked questions and much more will be added in the future.
